Objective
To teach the life cycle of a frog.Prior Knowledge
Students would have previously discussed the life cycle of a butterfly.They would have worked in groups to illustrate the sequence of events that occurred during the butterfly’s life cycle. They will be familiar with working in groups to perform a task.
Introduction

Have students recall what they learned about the life cycle of a butterfly. Read Tadpole to Frog. After reading, discuss the sequence of events that must occur before a frog develops.
Tell students first they are tiny eggs that cling together in the water, (making a list at the same time on the dry erase board). Ask what happens next, with prompting when necessary, while continuing to make the list.
Tadpoles come out of the eggs and swim in the pond.

After making the list of events that must occur before a frog develops, explain to the students they are going to work in groups to illustrate one part of the cycle just as they did with the butterfly.
Activity
Each group will be given paper that is labeled with a particular part of the cycle.
They will use pencils and crayons to
complete their pictures in different areas of the room. After they have illustrated their part of
the cycle, one member of the group will come to the front. Volunteers will tell
the order they should come in.
